Cornouaille (Kernev, Bro Gernev in Breton) is a country in Brittany. Formerly a kingdom and then a duchy of Brittany in the Middle Ages, it encompasses a large part of southern Finistère. Quimper is its historical capital. It is bounded by several towns and natural sites. Quimper, the largest town, is the prefecture of Finistère, to the north, Locronan, Douarnenez and the unforgettable Pointe du Raz to the west, Audierne and Cap Sizun, Penmarch and Guilvinec to the south, and Concarneau, at its eastern end, passing through Bénodet and Fouesnant, to continue the route to Pont-Aven
